The center of Lyon shaken by fights between football supporters and between militants of the extremes

Several clashes punctuated the evening, especially around the OL match against Brondby.

Clashes erupted Thursday evening in Lyon, between football supporters on the one hand, and between anti-fascist and far-right activists, reports ActuLyon.

The first fights took place in Perrache between activists from each political camp, then on Place Bellecour in the evening. According to an anti-fascist activist from Lyon, around thirty men uttered the supremacist cry of “white power” then “assaulted people“. The witness “antifa”Appeals to the State, in this case to the prefect of the Rhône.

The evening was also disrupted by Olympique Lyonnais’ game against Danish club Brondby, with supporters from each team clashing later that night, still at Place Bellecour. According to ActuLyon, an arrest took place and an investigation was opened.
