2nd league: Lustenau returns to winning ways

2. League

After two games without complete success, Austria Lustenau returned to winning ways in the Admiral 2nd League on Friday. The leader of the table defeated SV Horn 2-0 and presented against his first rival FC Liefering, who will be in action on Saturday. The third Lafnitz played away at FAC Vienna 2-2. Bundesliga relegated St. Pölten meanwhile won 2-1 at Wacker Innsbruck.

Lustenau had last played 1: 1 in St. Pölten and before that they had a home defeat against Blau Weiß Linz (0: 1). In the home game against Horn, the goals came after the break: Muhammed-Cham Saracevic put the team of coach Markus Mader (57th) in the lead, Wallace ensured the final score (67th). Lustenau leads the table with one more game and six points ahead of Liefering. Salzburg will meet fourth from Linz in Saturday’s hit, while Upper Austrians can climb to second place with a win.

Lafnitz is still in third place after a 2-2 win at FAC. Joao Oliveira (13th) had made it 1-0 for Floridsdorf with a penalty, Stefan Umjenovic (19th) equalized a little later. In the second half, too, the renewed FAC leadership by Christian Bubalovic (51st) was soon answered: Philipp Wendler scored in the 55th minute to make the final score later. Both clubs have now been undefeated for four games.

St. Pölten ends the Innsbruck series

On the other hand, the mini-series by Wacker Innsbruck is torn. The Tyroleans lost 2-1 against SKN St. Pölten after three wins under interim coach Masaki Morass in the Tivoli Stadium. The guests were in front for the first time with a Joppich own goal in the 52nd minute, but Ronivaldo (62nd) managed to equalize. The shortly before substitute Deni Alar (75.) then maneuvered a Kovacevic cross almost perfectly into the net with his first touch. Wacker had to end the game with ten people – Rami Tekir got the red card in the heated game, goal scorer Ronivaldo got it after the final whistle.

St. Pölten striker Deni Alar scored his fifth goal of the season in Innsbruck

There was a little sense of achievement for Juniors Upper Austria. After five defeats in a row and the separation from coach Stefan Hirczy, the Upper Austrians scored 1-1 in Kapfenberg. They had led from the 28th minute, the equalizer only fell in stoppage time.
