Aviv Dubai Championship (ET): Rozner hangs on

Aligned together in the last game this Saturday, Antoine Rozner, Francesco Laporta and Joachim B. Hansen all three will meet again tomorrow, again in the last group. But in a different order in the standings: while the French started today with a stroke ahead of the Italian and the Dane, he will start Sunday with a stroke of delay. The reason for this? A card of 69 (-3) today, against the 67 (-5) of his rivals. Yet the day had started in an ideal way for the Racingman, author of a birdie in 1 and an iron shot in the box in 3 for eagle. But a stray second shot on the par 5 of 5 leading to a severe double bogey brought him back in line, and if Rozner had negotiated the last two-thirds of the Fire Course of Jumeirah Golf Estates with three birdies against a bogey, it is he who will find himself hunter in the last round.

“It was a little more complicated day than the previous ones: I missed a few shots on the easy holes, which penalized me, but the rest was pretty much the same. If I can correct the little mistakes I made today, I think I can end up in a good situation ”, he told the cameras of the European tour. In the event of victory this Sunday, Antoine Rozner would become the second French to retain a title on theEuropean Tour after the doubling of Jean-Francois Remésy to theopen the France in 2005.

The other French, on the other hand, will start from a little too far to be able to join in the fight for victory. Yes Michaël Lorenzo Vera, author of a nice 66 (-6), points in 13th position at -13 to “only” six shots from the leading men, the other Blues are beyond the provisional top 30 before the last lap. Robin roussel (72), Julien warrior (68), Romain Langasque (68) and Matthieu pavon (69) are 33rd at -11, Victor perez (70) is 52nd at -8, and finally Joel Stalter (75) is 69th and last at -2.
