Judokas RD stand out in Panama Infantil del Caribe – El Nacional

Santo Domingo.- The U-13 judo team selected three gold, five silver and eight bronze medals on the first day of the Children’s Pan-American Championship and Caribbean Cup that concludes this Sunday at the Dominican Fiesta hotel.

Darlin Jiménez, at less than 28 kilos; Weslis Contreras, in less than 31 kilograms, and Carla Tolentino, in less than 35 kilos, won the gold medals in their respective categories.

The United States, with five gold, six silver and four bronze metals, was the most outstanding representation, while the infants of Ecuador added four gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

Colombia marches in fourth place with one gold, one silver and three bronze.
After the conclusion of the preliminary bouts, a brief opening ceremony was held in which the president of the Dominican Judo Federation, Gilberto García, welcomed the different delegations and urged them to continue working on the development of judo.

Carlos Segarra, president of the Pan American Judo Confederation (CPJ), highlighted the organization of the championship and considered that, in infants, lies the future of world judo.
