Latvian U21 footballers let go of the game and lose minimally to Hungary

The Latvian U21 men’s national football team lost to the 2023 European Championship qualifiers in Budapest on Friday.

Latvia’s young footballers lost 0: 1 (0: 0) to their peers from Hungary.

The first half passed without dangerous moments, but in the sixth minute of the second half the ball reached the goal of the Latvian national team. However, due to the background situation, the result remained unchanged.

However, 13 minutes before the end of the regular time Regē Sānto unobstructed the ball in the penalty area and with a shot from about ten meters reached 1: 0 in favor of the Hungarians.

In Group B, Germany and Israel have 12 points in four and five games, Poland and Hungary have seven points in four and five matches, Latvia has earned three points in five duels, but San Marino has no points.

The game against Hungary ended the first round of the competition. Latvia lost at home to Poland with 0: 2 and to Germany with 1: 3, but defeated San Marino with 2: 0. Guests with 1: 2 lost to Israel.

The Latvian U-21 national team will play with Poland in November after visiting Hungary on November 16 in Krakow.
