The baskets of s.Oliver Würzburg are still waiting for the first away win of the season: In the quarter-finals of the BBL Cup, they lost as close as possible to Crailsheim with 79:82 (43:39). With that, the team of head coach Denis Wucherer missed the chance to make it into the top four of the BBL Cup for the first time.
Big catch-up in the final quarter
The guests from Würzburg did not get into the game well and were behind 16:23 after the first quarter. In the second quarter they got stronger and won 23:20. After the break, the usurer team completely lost control (14:24). They could no longer reward themselves for their terrific race to catch up (26:15) in the last ten minutes of the game.
Bavaria loses in Chemnitz, Bayreuth against Berlin
With the Lower Franconia, the last Bavarian team was eliminated in the quarter-finals. Previously, defending champion FC Bayern Munich, completely surprisingly, went bust at the underdog Chemnitz 99ers with 80:85 and medi Bayreuth was clearly defeated by Alba Berlin with 57:84. Braunschweig prevailed in the fourth game against Frankfurt.
