Tennis.-Tennis / ATP Finals.- Norwegian Casper Ruud defeats Russian Rublev and completes the semi-finalists of the ATP Finals

MADRID, 19 (EUROPA PRESS)

Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud completed the shortlist of semifinalists of the ATP Finals that are being played in Turin and will face Russian Daniil Medvedev after beating Russian Andrey Rublev this Friday in three sets 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5).

The Nordic, debutant in the ‘teachers’ appointment, had to overcome Rublev’s best start to seal his second victory after almost two and a half hours of play and join Serbian Novak Djokovic as the other classified in the Green Group.

Ruud did not start the duel well and after giving up the first set, he was seen with a ‘break’ down at the beginning of the second. However, he managed to quickly recover the disadvantage and take advantage of his rival’s nervousness to break definitively with 6-5 and take the duel to a third set where Rublev again squandered a break of advantage and definitively yield in the ‘sudden death’ .
