Worlds: Gouzou-Faroux in bronze

Pierre Gouzou and Josuah Faroux won the world bronze medal in synchronized on Saturday in Baku, while Léa Labrousse and Allan Morante will play in the individual finals on Sunday. On the 3rd day of the Worlds in Baku, the French trampoline won a bronze medal in synchro, the first for the pair made up of Pierre Gouzou and Josuah Faroux. With 52.05 points, they complete a podium dominated by Belarus, ahead of Germany. On the other hand, after a good start to the year, the young Marine Prieur and Cléa Brousse had to be content with 8th place (45.72 pts) in a final won by the Chinese, ahead of the Japanese and Portuguese. The day was also marked by the individual semi-finals. After mixed qualifications, the two Olympic qualifiers (who had fallen at the start of the program in Tokyo) performed very beautiful exercises. Léa Labrousse obtains 6th place but qualifies in 5th position for the final since only two of the three Chinese women who are ahead of her will be able to compete. Allan Morante also qualifies thanks to his 6th place. The last individual world medal for the blue trampoline dates back to David Martin’s bronze in 2003. Cléa Brousse validated her first experience For her first Worlds, Cléa Brousse also made it to the individual semi-final. But his lack of difficulties and some trips on the canvas do not allow him to extend the adventure (17th). The fact remains that the resident of the Rennes pole validated her first experience: beyond her individual and synchro performances, she took part in 5th place by team for Les Bleues, absent from the World Top 5 since 1992. As for tumbling (event non-Olympic), the day after the world title delighted by the quartet composed of Candy Brière-Vetillard, Émilie Wambote, Maëlle Dumitru-Marin and Lucie Tumoine, which had not happened since 1996, he won a very beautiful medal of money thanks to Lucie Tumoine and two perfectly mastered series. She succeeds Chrystel Robert, the last French individual vice-world champion 22 years ago (1999). Too bad for Candy Brière-Vetillard, at the head of the qualifications, but who fell at the end of her first series in the final and finished in 6th place.
