ATP> Patrick Mouratoglou: “Tsitsipas is better in matches than in training”

In a short video on his Instagram account Patrick Mouratoglou evokes the first time he saw Stefanos Tsitsipas in real life.

In fact, when I arrived, I asked a coach who was there what he thought of Tsitsipas. His response was clear: “He is slow, his energy is insufficient, I do not see him becoming a very high level player, he plays well but his physique remains average”

To which Patrick replied: “Thank you, but you are focusing on what Tsitsipas does not have and not the other way around and what he can also acquire over time”

In the end, the observation for Serena’s coach was positive, especially for a very important criterion: “Tsitsipas is better in matches than in training”, a criterion which has not changed since the Greek joined the academy and which is a real criterion of “quality” to distinguish the champions from the stars.

Once again, this little anecdote delivered by Patrick Mouratoglou who has more than 500,000 followers is a little gem. We can say what we want but Serena’s coach has understood the power of social networks which are also powerful channels for developing real original content, respect!
