fifth Dan for the teacher Efisio Mele

Olbia. Great satisfactions for the sport of Olbia. Another important recognition for the Master of the Olbia Sports Center Efisio Mele on the occasion of the refresher course for technicians of the Sardinia regional committee in Arborea last weekend.

In fact, an unexpected 5th DAN has arrived which closes a 2021 full of Olbiesi judoistic satisfactions. A recognition that comes from afar, the crowning (until now) of a judo career always as a protagonist starting as a young athlete with the titles of Italian cadet champion up to the world Master title in Tours in 2006. A life committed to promotion of judo and its principles first as an agonist, in fact, and then as a teacher and promoter of unique sporting events in the Olbiese panorama and beyond.

Events that can boast, in the various editions, the presence of 4 Olympic athletes such as Gabriel Arteaga (Sydney 2000), Francesco Faraldo (London 2012), Matteo Marconcini (Rio 2016) and Odette Giuffrida (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020) as well as hosting athletes from: Lombardy, Liguria, Piedmont, Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Campania, Sicily, Tuscany, Veneto, Switzerland, France, Austria, Romania, Ukraine, Moldavia, Russia, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria. Events that have certainly served to refine the organizational dynamics for more important events such as, since 2016, Maestro Mele together with his staff has brought to Sardinia.

All together with his lifelong companion in adventures, Maestro Paolo Scanu (pictured with Efisio Mele), with whom he shared yet another traquardo. In 2016 the European Kata Championship, in 2017 the Veterans World Championship and the Kata World Championship and recently the Junior World Championship. All the athletes and the staff are proud of this recognition because it pays for the efforts and sacrifices of everything up to now to demonstrate the excellent work done and the excellent success of the events. This is certainly not easy for a sport that is “not in the media” like Judo where money and visibility are really low compared to other sports.
