A tweet from Venezuelan journalist Richard Méndez opens the debate on whether the base-ball He ceased to be the most popular sport in Venezuela?
Tweeter
I’m going with an unpopular tweet. Professional football in Caracas yesterday attracted nearly three times as many audiences as baseball and in both cases it was classic.

Subject to analyze .. Your inf. This is correct, but in my opinion it is NOT a thermometer for measuring fanaticism. Yesterday, for example, I didn’t go to the stadium, but my house was full of friends watching Ccs vs Mag. Same on WathsApp and in my edf. Today I find out that Ccs vs Táchira also played

It was a final so it’s not a comparison, football fans are like crazy saying that now football is the national sport because of a simple game, but they don’t remember that in the ‘hexagon the 2 teams faced each other in Caracas and attendance was less than that of Caracas Magallanes.

by the way, today a single regular season game between Leones del Caracas and Cardenales de Lara in Barquisimeto brings together more than 10,000 people, which is unthinkable in a regular season game in Futve, in a town other than San Cristóbal

By the way, in the game the Caribbean Eagles receive almost the same number of people as the futve final game and it is the regular season.

Are you really comparing that? A regular season game against a final? And what else in the football final was there a restriction on the number of fans allowed? Only 40% can enter baseball.

My unpopular opinion is that today baseball is not the first sport in Venezuela, it is only “popular” in certain specific geographic areas.
There are more children playing soccer than baseball.
