After the memory of Bruno Linciano who passed away just this morning, the president Andrea Marcon opened the last Federal Council 2021 with congratulations to the councilor Alessandro Maestri for the book “I was called Maesutori” and then went on to present some numbers on the registrations of the competitive season just ended: 20432 registered with an increase of 13.3% compared to 2020, 3.5% compared to 2019 and 1.2 % compared to 2018. “The best figure is the 11.3% increase in Under 18 athletes with + 24.7% in female athletes and + 7.3% in men” commented the top federal executive.
Approved the minutes of the meeting of the Federal Council of last November 26, the focus of the work shifted to the administrative procedures opened by the approval of contributions to companies: in addition to mileage reimbursements, the companies that have done more youth activities in 2021 and those that have increased the Under 18 memberships are rewarded. “With these allocations that will reach the companies by Christmas – explains the president Andrea Marcon – an operation is closed which, together with the contributions to and from the islands and the non-application of tender fees, is worth 1,500,000 Euros in favor of our companies “.
The affiliations of two new companies approved, bringing the total to December 18 a 257 (against 133 last year at the same period), the list of international baseball and softball referees 2022. The Federal Council therefore decided to provide for the organization of the Tournament of Regions 2022 which will take place from June 16 to 19 in Lombardy.
It is therefore time for the competitive championships with the decision on the repechage. In serie B baseball, where there were four places available, have been fished out Cupramontana, Junior Rimini, Yankees San Giovanni in Persiceto e Rams Viterbo, while in serie A2 softball for the only seat available, the choice fell on New Bologna.
The decision on the repechage allowed the Federal Council to approve the days of the various championships (A and B baseball, A1 and A2 softball) and the relative calendars drawn up by the Competition Organization Commission (COG), with the top series of the batti e corri in the male which will see 31 teams at the start after the non-registration of one of the entitled parties.
Having closed the topics relating to competitive activity, the Federal Council has made an appointment for the next meeting in January of the new year.
