AT Louviers (Eure), it is within the Paul Morin gymnasium (rue Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) Friday, December 10, 2021 that the mayor met, Francois-Xavier Priollaud (MoDem), the sub-prefect of Les Andelys, Virginie Sené-Rouquier, the president of the Louviers Inter-municipal Gymnasium Management Syndicate (SIGG), Didier Juhel, as well as the teaching teams of Le Hamelet college, including its principal Valérie Dragée.
“It is always a great happiness for a mayor, to inaugurate new facilities”, rejoiced the city councilor.
A site worth 2.12 million euros
The rehabilitation and extension of the Paul Morin gymnasium will have cost nearly 2.12 million euros. Various grants have come to help SIGG, prime contractor in this project, notably the State (€ 615,000) and the departmental council (€ 660,563). The SIGG, for its part, which brings together 24 municipalities and manages the Loverian gymnasiums Paul Morin and Colette Besson, has taken out a loan of € 700,000 over 30 years. If the gymnasium is located in Louviers, the work has indeed been financed by the 24 municipalities of the union.

“We are spoiled,” enthuses Valérie Dragée. It is important in the eyes of the mayor to keep this link between education and sport.
The expansion of the structure will make it possible to best ensure the PE courses for college students as well as to increase the niches of reception. Finally, this inauguration takes place in a particular context, that of preparation for Olympic Games 2024. This equipment will help to host other events.
“Loyal and efficient partnership”
Virginie Sené-Rouquier underlined the importance of joint grants from the departmental council and the state :
“We manage to build very beautiful public facilities, thanks to a loyal and efficient partnership”.
Since 2018, no less than 21 Louviers projects were subsidized by the State for a total of 4 million euros. This sum may relate to the rehabilitation of schools, upgrades to various standards, the repair of public spaces or, in this case, sports equipment.
“I thank in advance those who will animate the gymnasium, to keep it alive and perhaps to correct some small faults”, declared the sub-prefect.
The work of the gymnasium did not take place in the simplest of ways, first and foremost the health situation that we know.
“It delayed us a lot, like asking companies to iron multiple times. “
Pay attention to the ankles
The members and professors of the associations present that evening pointed out to us several imponderables. Relating to the epidermis, first of all: there was no no heating.
