Steelers rally to beat Titans at Heinz Field

What appeared to be a field day at Heinz Field for the Tennessee Titans turned into a nightmare when los Pittsburgh Steelers turned the score around in the fourth quarter to beat them 19-13 in the match corresponding to Week 15 of the NFL.

The Titans took the lead in the first period when they took advantage of an excellent 55-yard punt return from Chester Rogers that Ryan Tannehill converted into a touchdown. Before the first quarter ended, kicker Randy Bullock increased the lead with a 26-yard field goal.

All change for the Steelers In the second half. Pittsburgh turned the game into a one-possession game when Ben Roethlisberger scored on a QB sneak to make it 13-10. ‘Big Ben’ hadn’t scored on the ground in three seasons.

Before finishing the third quarter, cornerback Cam Sutton caused a fumble by knocking down wide receiver Racey McMath and Joe Haden recovered it. Seven plays and 31 yards later, Boswell tied the game with a 28-yard field goal.

At the next defensive opportunity, defensive end Taco Charlton deflected a Ryan Tannehill pitch at the scrimmage line and linebacker Joe Schobert intercepted the ball. Boswell hit 46 yards to make it 16-13 for Pittsburgh.

Tannehill had another shot with more than six minutes to go, but the quarterback lost the ball in the exchange with the center and TJ Watt got the ball. The Steelers kicker added the last three points with a 48-yard hit.

At the last chance of the match, Joe Haden gave the victory to the Steelers. The veteran cornerback stopped Nick Westbrook-Ikhine within one yard of the first-ten mark on fourth down and seven to go with 34 seconds left on the clock.

During the engagement against the Titans, several Steelers players set records in NFL and franchise history.

Ben Roethlisberger took fifth place on all-time passing yards list by beating Philip Rivers. Roethlisberger entered the game with 63,414 yards and needed 27 to beat Rivers’ 63,440. Big Ben finished with 148 yards to reach 63,562.

For its part, TJ Watt became the player with the most sacks in a season in franchise history. Watt captured Ryan Tannehill twice, but shared one with Cam Heyward. In this way, the Wisconsin product broke the record set by James Harrison in 2008 with 16 sacks.

Finally, the wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who accumulated 990 yards after 12 games, recorded 38 yards and surpassed the thousand yard barrier and this made him the 11th Steelers player to exceed 1,000 yards in one season. The most recent were JuJu Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown in 2018.
