The pandemic forced him to leave professional basketball and now he lives building domes

The story of Exequiel Cassinelli is not far from that of hundreds of athletes who, because of Covid-19, had to resort to creativity to support themselves financially in the face of the fall in competitions.

The basketball player passing through San Lorenzo and Gimnasia de Comodoro Rivadavia saw his income cut in March 2020 and thanks to Pablo Orlietti, a player from Cordoba and friend of Cassinelli, he got to know the world of geodesic domes.

In dialogue with BasketballPlus, the escort residing in Esquel said: “After Pablo told me that he had made some small domes in his house as a hobby, I started to investigate and it seemed like a good alternative for the area. I did all the courses and I learned how to make the domes and cladding, but I had no idea about the construction, so I needed a partner who has it clear so that it can be complemented with what is mine ”.

“Then I looked for a major master builder and engineer to make the plans and be able to present them to the municipality and have the consent to be able to build this type of house,” said the man born in Capitán Bermúdez.

28-year-old Exequiel thanks the discipline for preparing to make transcendental decisions (as in this case for his life): “Basketball helped me a lot throughout this process, in the mentality to face moments of pressure in the game. business or things like that. I really enjoyed being able to have the opportunity to compete professionally, the truth is that it is something incredible and that I did not imagine when I was a child and just starting out. In that sense I am very grateful to basketball ”.
