2 accessions to the French championship for CAP judokas

On Sunday January 16, the Normandy championship for senior judo teams took place in Pitres.

As it has been doing for several years now, the CAP then fielded two teams in this competition, one female and one male.

The first teams directly won a ticket for the 1st division French championship and the next two a place in the 2nd division French championship (potentially also qualifying for the 1st divisions in the event of a podium).

For girls, the team was made up of Barbara Paul, Sylvie Clapier, Charlotte Dupuis (CAM), Manon Gouel (Petit Caux), Alicia Auber, Manon Delaunay and Marthe Avaro.

Among the boys, the club was represented by Clément Gillard, Sacha Hauguel, Rudy Affro, Antonin Lory, Machefer Hugo (La Saussaye), Manu Cheminel, Clément Parmentier, Christophe Lerouge and Geoffrey Bethan.

Their teacher, Jérémy Defrance, was present in order to be able to coach them throughout this competition.

Many capists were also present, Alain Lejeune who officiated as referees as well as Virginie Defrance, Valentin Bossé, Fabienne Levesque and Jimmy Levesque, club leaders, Jean-Pierre Defrance, CAP teacher and many supporters.

3 teams were present for women and 8 for boys.

The competition started for the club not its men’s team. The CAP then met the Channel club.

Great encounters at the start of the competition allowed CAP to win 4-1 and thus reach the semi-finals.

Then came a round of women against a very nice team from Eure Judo against which our women will unfortunately lose 2-3.

Return to the boys who met the USPI team (future winner of the category) in the semi-finals and who failed to win, losing 4-1.

The women returned to the mats against the Channel team against which they gave everything and won 3-2 following superb fights.

Among the men again, they met the CAEN team which allowed them to go for a beautiful bronze medal by winning the meeting.

However, in order to get a place for the French championship, it was necessary to compete for a place of 3 against the club of Amfreville.

And it was also done by winning their first 3 fights and winning in the end 3-2.

Our two teams will therefore have the honor of representing Normandy, Seine-Maritime and the cities of Pavilly and Barentin on April 16 and 17 at the Institut du Judo in Paris in the French 2nd division championship.

Congratulations to them and wish them good luck for this championship in the national elite.
