HSV can still do city derby!
After five duels without a win (4 of them bankruptcies), the Walter-Elf beat second division leaders St. Pauli 2-1. The hero of the evening is Bakery Jatta. He made the winning goal in the first starting eleven after his corona illness (70th).
The excitement of the game: Shortly before the half-time break, things get wild on the sidelines. St. Pauli’s Irvine knocks Meffert down and sees a yellow card. It’s getting hot on the substitution benches. The TV picture shows HSV coach Tim Walter arguing and gesturing in the direction of the St. Pauli bank. He cannot be heard. Instead, a different voice that is closer to the external microphones. You can clearly hear: “Shut up! What’s going on?” A sign of the heated atmosphere in the city duel.
Otherwise, the 107th derby was initially a matter of the mind: first Pauli striker Burgstaller nodded in front of Corona-related only 2,000 fans to make it 0: 1 (30th), then HSV captain Schonlau headed the deserved equalization after Kittel-Ecke (58th).
Before Jatta got the first home win against St. Pauli in over 20 years. And ensures mega excitement in the ascent race. The HSV moves up to three points to the Kiezkicker.

Fortuna Düsseldorf loses the duel between the traditional clubs against 1. FC Nürnberg 0-1.
