This exhibition specially invited Xie Shiyuan, an associate professor of the Department of History of National Cheng Kung University, to assist in the planning. Chiayi Mayor Huang Minhui attended the opening press conference on the morning of the 29th. “The battlefield of heroes, the world’s Cannon.” Huang Minhui said that in 1931, the Cannon baseball team won a quasi-winning result in the Japanese Koshien Competition. This history is not only the story of Chiayi, but also the origin of Taiwanese baseball. If baseball is the national game of Taiwan, then the hometown of baseball is Chiayi, and Chiayi is the flame of Chiayi baseball.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that in 1931, Jianong entered Jiaziyuan, and his journey in Jiaziyuan was legendary. The era in which Jianong lived was an important beginning of baseball in Taiwan. This is not only the story of Jianong, but also the glorious memory of Chiayi City. This exhibition consists of 5 units, “1931 Jiaziyuan: Cannon in the World”, “1928 Chiayi: The Real Taiwan Baseball Team”, “1951 Manila: Taiwan Baseball Elites in Cannon”, “2014 Chiayi: Rebirth of Cannon” And “The Beginning of Dreams” presents a look back at the 90th anniversary of Jianong’s ascension to Jiaziyuan.
The entrance projected the historical image of Cannon’s first decisive battle at Jiaziyuan in 1931, leading the audience back to the lively scene at that time. The rich video materials, cultural relics and historical materials of the Cannon seniors, including the baseball equipment used in the Japanese occupation period in the Farglory Dome collection, the rich collection of Chiayi University’s players’ study videos, and the special introduction of Cannon players Tuo Hongshan, The objects of Lande He and Guo Guangye show the process of Cannon players from their school days to the development of Taiwan baseball.
In addition, the exhibition also includes the related achievements of the citizen researcher collaboration activity “Chiayi Recalling Cannon” at the Chiayi Municipal Museum to assist the action to participate in the interactive landscape including “Exploring the Baseball City”, allowing everyone to read the past and the history of baseball in Chiayi constructed by citizen researchers. The current historical landscape map, during the selection process, awakens the audience’s recognition and imagination of “Chiayi is a baseball capital”.
