The new year begins with a precious victory for Famila Wuber who conquers the Sesto San Giovanni field for 72-76. The Orange, who hadn’t played since December 27th, they approach the race very well, always keep the opponents in double digits but in the last ten minutes they undergo a sensational return of the landlords. With the cynicism of the great team, Dotto and companions grit their teeth and take home the twelfth consecutive victory in Techfind Serie A1. Excellent performances by Gruda and Keys under the boards, by Crippa at the distance shooting and by Sottana and Dotto at the assist voice.
The first points of 2022 bear the signature of Gruda which opens the contest from the lunette; the initial stage, however, is all about the Dotto twins who give a show: Caterina successfully attacks the iron twice, Francesca hits from the bow and distributes assists. On 7-12, then, the scene passes to Keys who signs a personal run of 7-0 but, above all, he already reaches the double figures with an acrobatic basket in alley oop on an assist from Sottana: 11-23 at the first siren.
The entry of Fietta and the defense in zone 3-2 give new life to Geas which inaugurates the return to the field with a partial 4-0 that invites Dikaioulakos to timeout after only 40 ”. The answer comes from a cynical Crippa (special match for her, ex of the match) who exchanges favors from distance with Trucco: 22-30 at 14 ‘. Sottana, back on the field after a month and a half of absence, fails to hit from the arc so the Famila relies on its longs, Andrè and Gruda, thanks also to great assists on fast offensive transitions. Again Crippa punishes with a heavy shot but the last ring is from the Frenchwoman who bags 30-44 on the end-of-time siren.
Another 4-0 AC Milan return to the field, interrupted by Keys and Gruda after three minutes of fasting. In the central phase of the hamlet, show of the two teams in archery: five triples in sequence signed by Trucco, Sottana, Crippa, Crudo and Sottana for 41-56. The former Geas strikes again from distance maintaining a perfect 100% from the field with 14 points to his credit. Deshields and Crudo close the line at 47-61.
The last quarter has only one huge protagonist: Ivana Raca burns the orange retina with four consecutive triples and plays the Sesto charge. The hosts, invigorated by the extraordinary offensive fluidity, tighten the shirts in defense and bring up to minus five. Deshields, with two great talented plays, gives Schio a nine-point advantage on 63-72. Still Raca, however, rekindles the Milanese hopes with a three-point game and the stolen from Keys which is worth less than two. In the moment of greatest difficulty Sottana is icy in the bezel and then offers a wonderful assist to Gruda which definitively closes the challenge for the final 72-76.
