Regional football club Rot-Weiss Essen has made two winter transfers. A few weeks ago, RWE had already submitted a contract offer to another player.
In November 2021 it was when David Niepsuj three weeks of training Red and white food introduced. He convinced those responsible for sports, coach Christian Neidhart and sports director Jörn Nowak.
To RevierSportinformation, RWE had also made a contract offer to the 26-year-old right footer, who can play the right flank both defensively and offensively. The Pole, who was born in Wuppertal, declined with thanks. He had other plans.
As RS learned, Niepsuj had received a call from Poland shortly before the Essen contract offer. Namely from the Ekstraklasa club Stal Mielec. In southern Poland, Niepsuj was lured with a first division contract. But in the end it shouldn’t come to that. Mielec suddenly dismissed Niepsuj, who previously played 73 top-flight games (four goals, four assists) for Pogon Szczecin and Wisla Kraków. Niepsuj was still without a club, without a Mielec and also without a current RWE offer. In short: Niepsuj, who trained with VfL Bochum, among others, simply gambled away.
So much so that he recently – on January 12, 2021 – signed a contract with Chojniczanka Chojnice. A Polish third division club from a town of 40,000 inhabitants. In terms of level, the 3rd Polish league can definitely be compared to the lower half of the regional league or the top teams from the Oberliga Niederrhein/Westfalen. “I actually had other plans and wanted to go to the Ekstraklasa. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. Now I’m here with Chojniczanka and I want to help the club achieve their goals,” said Niepsuj on Chojniczanka’s club TV at his presentation.
