KOMPAS.com – The puzzle of the disappearance of a number of Indonesian national team players in the Shin Tae-yong“>FIFA Matchday trial against Timor Leste, at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Sunday (30/1/2021), has finally been revealed.
The Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong confirmed that a total of eight players could not participate in the second match against Timor Leste, due to showing symptoms of Covid-19.
The Indonesian national team only has five reserve players against Timor Leste on Sunday night.

The eight players who disappeared from the Indonesian national team squad are Syahrian Abimanyu, Rizky Ridho, Syahrul Trisna, Evan Dimas, Irfan Jaya, Hanis Saghara, Muhammad Rafli, and Adi Satriyo.
Meanwhile, another player, Yabes Roni, was found to have permission to return to his hometown because his family died.
After the Indonesia vs Timor Leste national team match ended with a score of 3-0, Shin Tae-yong also revealed the cause of the disappearance of half of Garuda’s strength.
It is known that eight Indonesian national team players have tested positive for Covid-19 so they cannot compete against Timor Leste.
“Every day, we carry out PCR tests for stricter health protocols. Until there are eight positive players cannot take part in the match,” said the South Korean coach.
Shin Tae-yong also felt cheated by this incident.
Because, so far, he feels he has implemented a very disciplined health protocol in the Indonesian national team’s training center.
“In terms of health protocols, we strictly adhere to it. With this situation happening, I’m confused, I don’t know what else to do,” he said.
Meanwhile, even with only 16 players, Indonesia managed to win with a landslide score of 3-0 over Timor Leste.

Interestingly, the five players who became reserves also had the opportunity to play in the Indonesia vs Timor Leste national team match tonight.
“The rest of our players worked hard to get good results,” said Shin Tae-yong gratefully.
However, this incident makes Shin Tae-yong worried, moreover, the training center in preparation for the AFF U-23 Cup 2022 will continue in Bali.
“Corona problems like this must be reconsidered how in the future,” said Shin Tae-yong about the Covid-19 case that hit the Indonesian national team.
