After F1, Netflix will soon make you a golf fan

For a few years now, Netflix has taken pleasure in producing content “House“, obviously with series and films, but also (excellent) documentaries. This is particularly the case of Formula 1, with the very successful “F1: Drive to Survive”, which allow you to relive the seasons that have just passed. If not everyone is fond of the side “fiction” brought sometimes (often) by Netflix, we have to admit that the production is impeccable, and that the series has allowed F1 to become more democratic all over the world.

You’re going to love golf and you don’t know it yet

Indeed, Netflix obliges, the series Drive to Survive notably allowed F1 to explode on the side of the United States. In the rest of the world, many people have rediscovered the taste of F1 thanks to Netflix. Recently, we learned that the creators of this series of documentaries based on F1 had decided to tackle another sport: golf.

Indeed, it was the very serious PGA Tour which confirmed the news, announcing a new Netflix exclusive documentary, based on the little white ball. “A series that will provide unprecedented access to the biggest names and events in golf throughout the season”explains the PGA Tour Twitter account. Concretely, as is the case for F1, the Netflix series should return to the main events that have occurred in the golf season that has just ended.

The series promises to provide authentic insight into the real lives of athletes and what it’s like to win and lose throughout a season on the PGA Tour. A series that boasts a rather impressive cast, including winners of major tournaments, stars of the Ryder Cup and the President’s Cup.

We will find pell-mell Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, Ian Poulter, Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Viktor Hovland, Brooks Koepka, Bubba Watson, Tommy Fleetwood, Joel Dahmen , Cameron Champ, Kevin Na, Mito Pereira, Harry Higgs, Abraham Ancer, Daniel Bergero or even Keita Nakajima.

Like Drive to Survive, some athletes refused to be followed by Netflix for this new upcoming documentary. This is the case of Jon Rahm, Rory Mcllroy or even the essential Tiger Woods. The series should allow Netflix to offer a different delay on the discipline, and give access behind the scenes of some of the biggest tournaments of the FedEx Cup. It remains to be seen now when the first episode of this series will be available, the name of which remains to be defined.
