A month after the indictment of the former swimmer Yannick Agnel for rape and sexual assault on a minor under 15 – the victim is the daughter of his former trainer Lionel Horter – the investigation unit of Radio France investigated this case .
We learn, in particular, that the swimmer and the young teenager – now 19 years old, she was only 13 years old at the start of this relationship – would have exchanged “a first” kiss “on New Years Eve, December 31, 2015, in the “apartment rented by the swimmer in the center of Mulhouse”, indicates the media. Sexual intercourse would have subsequently taken place in Riedisheim – at the same home of Lionel Horter, where Agnel has been staying since the start of 2016 – and in Thailand, where the Mulhouse team takes part in an internship in January and February 2016.
During this stay, a swimmer from the club, interviewed by Radio France, would have confided to remember that the teenager went “regularly” to Yannick Agnel’s room. “I had doubts about what was going on”, she continues.
Within the club, the relationship between the former two-time Olympic champion and the daughter of Lionel Horter did not seem to be a secret. “N. told me at the end of 2017 that she had had a relationship with Yannick Agnel a year earlier,” confides a former swimmer to the investigation unit of Radio France.
The most disturbing in this investigation conducted by Radio France comes from the testimonies concerning the attitude of the parents of the victim. If Lionel and Marjorie Horter assured the investigators that they had been informed of the facts by their daughter only two weeks before the official filing of a complaint, last summer 2021, other witnesses doubt it and wonder how they “could see nothing ”.
A former club executive reinforces this doubt. He says that in 2019, while Mulhouse and his former star swimmer are in conflict over the last year of the contract that the club would not have paid (for the sum of 60,000 euros) “Franck Horter (Editor’s note: MON president and brother of Lionel) tells me that Yannick would be wise to accept this conciliation, because they have a file on him and his niece, N. ”. “No element shows at present that the parents were aware”, specifies for her part the prosecutor of Mulhouse also quoted in the document.
The investigation unit of Radio France also makes the factual parallel between the revelations of this story and the financial worries that the Mulhouse club is currently encountering, which is the subject of a preliminary investigation carried out by the financial section of the Mulhouse judicial police. “Finally, following an unfavorable financial audit, Mulhouse Alsace Agglomeration will resume, from January 31, 2022, the management of the MON (the club) pools, including the outdoor Olympic pool, which can be used by others. clubs and by schoolchildren, ”concludes Radio France reporters.
