Ahead of the match against Persipura Jayapura in Week 21 of Liga 1 2021-2022, Friday (28/1/2022), Arema‘s squad is getting more complete. Arema players suspected of having COVID-19 have been practicing again with the team.
Previously, Adilson Maringa, Sergio Silva, Renshi Yamaguchi, Carlos Fortes, Ikhfanul Alam, Fabiano Beltrame, and Rizky Dwi were known to be absent against PSIS Semarang last week for no apparent reason. After the match, Arema’s management confirmed that there were players with COVID-19 symptoms.
Arema’s Media Officer, Sudarmaji, revealed that the players suspected of having COVID-19 had completed their self-quarantine period. They have also been seen in the Arema training session leaving against Persipura.
“Alhamdulillah, all the symptomatic players have shown improving health progress. They have even been involved in team activities, namely training sessions. However, we still give warnings to always maintain strict procedures,” said Sudarmaji.
Appeal for Arema Players Suspected of Covid-19 and the wider community
Sudarmaji added that the incident that happened to the Arema players should be used as a lesson. The public is advised to maintain health protocols (prokes).
One of Arema’s concerns is the community who attended Arema’s training session. The hope is that there will be no more crowds around the field where the Singo Edan squad trains during their match in Series 4 which will be held in Bali.
“We also urge the public to take part in guarding, so they don’t congregate in places where we do exercise activities,” added the man from Banyuwangi.
Appreciation to the Bali Covid-19 Task Force
Sudarmaji also did not forget to appreciate the swiftness of the Bali Covid-19 Task Force in handling cases that befell the Arema players. The club expresses its deepest gratitude for the quick response of those who helped make the competition run.
“Internally Arema also remains obedient to regulations, anyone who shows symptoms, the initiative step is to self-quarantine,” he concluded.
