Ajdin Hrustic accepts the fight

Ajdin Hrustic is a real pleasure for every employee in the communications department of a Bundesliga soccer club. The 25-year-old professional with Bosnian-Romanian roots, who grew up in Australia and therefore plays in the national team for this country, is selling himself and his situation at Frankfurter Eintracht brilliantly: eloquent, convincing, positive. There is not so much good to report about his career in Frankfurt – it is stagnating.

In his first season he was rarely used by coach Adi Hütter, in the second by coach Oliver Glasner only a little more often. Last Saturday, Hrustic was in the starting line-up against Borussia Dortmund for the fifth time this season, after failing to make it into the squad a few times in autumn. But it is not daring to claim that the midfielder would have sat on the reserve bench against BVB if Djibril Sow had not been out on short notice and Kristijan Jakic, who had just recovered, had been an option for the starting eleven.

The central midfielder Hrustic, who thinks and feels more offensively, but can also take on the defensive part, is in the hierarchy behind the two competitors mentioned, but also behind Sebastian Rode and Makoto Hasebe. Daichi Kamada and Jesper Lindström are currently set for the attack division in midfield. Therefore, Hrustic is considered one of the candidates who could leave Eintracht during the winter break in order to gain match practice with a competitor.

“I haven’t heard of that”

In the relevant Internet portals, the left-footer is associated with the Eintracht opponent of the coming Sunday (3:30 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the Bundesliga and at DAZN), FC Augsburg. According to media reports, Hrustic is even said to have been officially informed by Eintracht that it would be allowed to look for a new club.
