Ajax can lose two more players during the winter transfer period in addition to David Neres, who will go to Shakhtar Donetsk. Danilo is nominated to be sold, while Victor Jensen is allowed to leave on a rental basis.
Danilo has become redundant in the Johan Cruijff Arena after the arrival of Brian Brobbey. The Brazilian also has an expiring contract and so the striker could just leave. “It would be logical if Ajax sells him,” said Algemeen Dagblad club watcher Johan Inan in the AD Voetbalpodcast. “Or clubs sometimes want to extend for a year, then rent the player out for six months and then see how he comes back.”
A temporary departure is also on the table for Jensen. The Dane, who already played at FC Nordsjaelland for half a year last season, is already 21 and has still not experienced his final breakthrough. The attacking midfielder is reportedly in the interest of clubs such as Rosenborg BK and Malmö FF and, according to Inan, can hope for a rental transfer to one of those clubs.
Finally, the journalist states that Nicolás Tagliafico will probably not leave Amsterdam. “I think he will finish the season at Ajax, but you don’t know how things will go in the last days of such a transfer period. Maybe a very nice club will come for Tagliafico and then Ajax can hardly stop him. What we can say is that they have to have a backup, because they are not very big in the left backs.”
