Algerian journalist and sports commentator hafid derradji has joined the list of personalities who will honor athletes who oppose normalization with the Israeli occupation state.
The tribute will take place during the international forum to be held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, from January 30 to February 3.
The Association of the Global Campaign for the Return to Palestine oversees the organization of the forum, which bears the slogan “Golden Jerusalem”.
A number of champion athletes from several Arab countries will be honored during this forum, in return for their withdrawal from various international competitions and sports, in refusal of normalization.
Algerian judo champion Fathi Norine will be one of the first athletes to be honoured, along with athletes from Jordan, Sudan, Mauritania, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Kuwait and Iran.
The forum will be held in Beirut in the presence of international and national sports personalities, including Hafeez Darraji, the champion of athletes awarded with the Jerusalem Gold Award.
It should be noted that the Algerian champion Fathi Norine decided to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics before the start of the tournament, after the draw made him face a competitor from the Israeli occupation.
On his return to Algeria, the Algerian wrestler received a distinguished welcome from a number of Algerians at Algiers International Airport, as an expression of their support for the decision to refuse to face the occupation wrestler Israeli.
Algerian judoka and trainer Ammar Benkhlef has been excluded for ten (10) years each from all events and activities organized or authorized by the International Judo Federation and its federations.
Wrestler Fathi Noureen has decided to retire after being punished for ten years.
