It is interesting to see how Venezuelan Andrés Galarraga‘s first home run in the Major Leagues was.
On September 21, 1985, the Montreal Expos were visiting the St. Louis Cardinals’ Busch Stadium, where Creole first baseman Andrés Galarraga was lined up for the visitors.
The Big Cat on a 2-2 count, hit a wild connection that went all over center field, to make it his first career home run in the Major Leagues.
It was the first of 399 home runs he was able to hit at the Big Show, in a career that began with the Montreal Expos.
He then moved on to the St. Louis Cardinals, but the golden years of his career were spent with the Colorado Rockies.
He was also with the Atlanta Braves, where he battled cancer and also made a mark on that Braves fan base.
He also saw action with the Texas Rangers, where he shared with Rafael Palmeiro and Alex Rodríguez in 2001.
He also played with the San Francisco Giants, returned to the Expos and finally played with the Los Angeles Angels.
