The young Samatanaise Marine Héquet has just been crowned Gers archery champion, cadet category. The Gers championship took place on January 2 in Auch, the day of his 16th birthday. And on Sunday January 9, during the archery competition in Balma (31) where 10 archers took part, she climbed to first place on the podium, earning her two places for the nationals: Marine ranks 7th in France out of the 637 cadets selected. 4 years ago, the Samatanaise chose to evolve in the Auscitain archery club, after two first years with the Archers de la Save who very quickly detected in the young archer a particular gift for this sport which requires skill, safety, strength and concentration. She quickly distinguished herself in various competitions and contests. His trainer Noël Cadeillan is a French champion and has won several gold medals. Interning at Mirande high school in second “sport studies”, she is preparing for a professional sports career and, if possible, to become a coach too. In her club, she is already an assistant coach. She is thrilled at the prospect of going up to the French youth championship, among the elite of archery, which will take place indoors, at the Parc des expositions de La Meilleraie, in Cholet (Maine-et-Loire), from Friday February 25 to Sunday February 27.
