Arsenal FC: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opens up about heart problems at the Africa Cup. – Soccer

Great news from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (32)!

The Arsenal star, who developed heart problems just over a week ago, has now addressed his fans. On his Instagram channel, the top striker gave the all-clear: “I came back to London to do some additional tests. I am happy to say that my heart is perfectly fine, I am completely healthy.”

The 32-year-old was previously with the Gabon national team at the Africa Cup. There, the slight heart problems were recognized during medical examinations. Aubameyang had to leave the tournament immediately. Further investigations will then follow at Arsenal in London. Now the all clear.

At the beginning of January, Aubameyang was infected with the corona virus. As a result, the slight heart problems appeared. His Gabon colleague Mario Lemina (28, Nice) therefore had to leave the Africa Cup early.

Reports that the stars had been disfellowshipped for misconduct have both disagreed. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta (39) said ahead of the London investigation: “We have no clarity from the association. It is our duty to medically ensure that the player is safe.”

Before the Gabonese second group game, the anomalies were noticed at Aubameyang. National coach Patrice Neveu (67) then gave him up, later explaining this as a precautionary measure: “We stuck to the protocol. It is very clear that Pierre-Emerick does not have a heart problem. It is possible that the disease has left its mark.”

Now Aubameyang is back at Arsenal. But how long? He no longer plays a role with the “Gunners” and should ideally leave the club in winter. Arsenal wants to save his salary (around 30 million euros). An offer is said to have come from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr Riyadh. Accordingly, they want to loan the striker for the rest of the season and then commit to a purchase obligation of eight million euros. It is currently still completely open whether the former Dortmund player will accept this change.
