Very well attended was the Art in the Park festival, held on Saturday and Sunday at Gateway Park, on the banks of the Colorado River. Event inspired by Georges Seurat’s painting “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte”, featuring Parisians enjoying a quiet afternoon by the water.

Visitors and residents had the opportunity to enjoy art in the open air and mingle with local and regional artists who exhibited a sample of their work, which included paintings, photographs, jewelry and pencil works.

Fun activities were organized for the children, such as jumping jacks, face painting and hands-on art activities. Parents could be seen playing and interacting with their children.

The Yuma Art Center brought its lawn games collection which included a giant chess set, croquet and badminton and Cornhole.

There was a wide range of food and snacks, as well as a soft drink and liquor stand that served signature mimosas, bloody Caesars and cactus margaritas for adults 21 and older.
