Good morning and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of the Open de Australia 2022. In a few minutes it will start women’s final facing Ashleigh Barty and Danielle Collins. The world number 1 is looking for her third Grand Slam title after winning Roland Garros (2019) and Wimbledon (2021). His rival makes his debut in a big final.
Is he fifth confrontation between both tennis players. Barty has won three times. Their first face-to-face took place at the Mutua Madrid Open in 2019 with the Australian winning 6-1, 1-6, 6-1. He repeated that same year at Roland Garros 7-5 and 6-1. The last two clashes were in Australia. Barty took the semi-final of the 2020 Adelaide tournament 3-6, 6-1, 7-6. Collins added his only victory last year in the round of 16 in Adelaide: 6-3 and 6-4.
