Rafael Nadal is through to the Australian Open quarter-finals for the 14th time after beating Adrian Mannarino in straight sets after a long early tie break.

Nadal needed seven set points before finishing the 28-minute, 40-second tie break en route to his 7-6 (14), 6-2, 6-2 victory in the fourth round.
He extended his streak to 21 consecutive wins against fellow southpaws.
Nadal moved into second place with John Newcombe on the all-time list with the most quarterfinals in Australia. Roger Federer tops that list with 15.
It is also his 45th quarter-final appearance at a Grand Slam tournament, ranking third on the all-time list behind Federer (58) and Novak Djokovic (51).
Nadal is now potentially three wins away from a record 21 Grand Slam titles for men.
Shapovalov surprises Zverev and advances to the quarterfinals
Denis Shapovalov has defeated third seed Alexander Zverev to advance to an Australian Open quarter-final match against Rafael Nadal.
Shapovalov, seeded No. 14, is through to the quarterfinals in Australia for the first time.

The 22-year-old Canadian finished with a 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-3 win over Olympic gold medalist Zverev at the Margaret Court Arena less than an hour after Nadal secured his place in the quarters. Australian Open final for the 14th time.
Shapovalov spent almost 11 hours on court during the first three rounds, winning twice in four sets and once in five, and was surprised by the relative speed of his 2 hour, 21 minute victory over Zverev.
“Probably the least expected to end up in three,” he said.
“Definitely happy with where the game is. I played pretty smart today.” Nadal made the best of a nearly 29-minute first-set tiebreak on his way to beating Adrian Mannarino 7-6(14), 6-2, 6-2 at Rod Laver Arena.
