Badminton enthusiasts in the Auneau sector were forced to train or participate in competitions in clubs that were not always near the town.
Just a year ago, the idea came to a few practitioners to create a local association, the Castel’Bad. “The pandemic forced us to suspend the practice as soon as the association was created. We organized an open day in June and word of mouth worked well,” explains Karelle Poudoulec, president of this very young association.
“A family spirit”
“We took part in the association forum last September. Now that indoor constraints have been eased, we meet regularly in the new Saint-Symphorien multisports hall,” adds the president.
Once installed by the members, the courts fill up little by little to play singles or doubles. Children accompanied by an adult are also welcome. “For now, we are not affiliated with the national federation. We are very free and we practice this sport as a hobby, in a family spirit, without a spirit of competition. The club provides the shuttlecocks, the members coming with their own racket.
Convenient. Sessions on Monday from 8 to 10 p.m.; Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. €50 per year for one person, €80 per year for two, €100 for three and €120 for four. The association has 86 members.
