Solid winners from Issy-les-Moulineaux, the badminton players of the BCR are doing an excellent job in the standings and are in second place this Sunday. Defeated at home by the Parisians on the first day, Martin Boiveau’s teammates traveled with the hope of grabbing a few points in Île-de-France. It was a great opportunity to return to the top of the standings since the leader Grande-Synthe lost, to everyone’s surprise, to Chantecler.
The Bretons were ideally launched in their confrontation thanks to two mixed doubles perfectly mastered by the pairs Gillot / Paksiutova and Leonov / Qi. If Martin Boiveau, opposed to a Corvée all in control, could not resist during a one-sided match (21-11, 21-9), Desmots-Chacun made short work of the young Barlow ( 21-5, 21-8). After four games, the badistes rostrenois had almost reached their minimum objective.
Leonov unfazed in defense
Qi, far superior to her opponent, recited a controlled offensive score, alternating short and long play. After two sets played with serenity, this one offered the fourth point of the day to the Costarmoricans (21-11, 21-3).
For his part, Leonov, imperturbable in the defensive phase, was technically very fair (21-16). Subsequently, the Rostrenois had to manage the local resistance by controlling the pace of the game. Solid until the end, Leonov won (14-10 then 21-13). A fifth success which ensured the final victory in Rostrenen!
The Breton collective finally consolidated its domination of the day by also pocketing the women’s doubles.
