Basketball actions return in Pasto

In the capital of Nariño, sports activity has been resumed with the programming of different tournaments.

This is the case of the basketball championship that was played in Bolívar Park, southwest of the capital of Nariño, which left the Unicentro quintet as champion after completing the different phases of the tournament.

The organizers of the sporting event pointed out that this time the championship was organized for players over 45 years of age.

“There was the participation of quintets from different sectors of the city, with athletes who seek to promote this discipline and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” they said.

The grand final was played by the teams from Parque Bolívar and Unicentro, the latter being the winner and becoming champion of the tournament that took place in Parque Bolívar.

After completing the different phases of the championship, the teams that defined the third place were the Filipense and Chapalito quintets, being the first to take the third place.

The organization

It should be noted that economic prizes were awarded and that is how the first place won one million pesos as an incentive for the participating teams and that this sports discipline is promoted every day.

One of the coordinators of this championship, Jairo Ramos, expressed that “we see that the championships organized by official entities are limited to young people. In this case, we are holding this championship for people over 45 years of age, to give life to the generations that at some point were high-level players”.

All against all

The organizers of this sports event they pointed out that 8 months ago the tournament began where the matches are scheduled every weekend, days in which the participating teams fought to be in the final phase of the championship until the ones with the best score qualified.

“For next month we are going to schedule another championship with the same characteristics. We hope that teams from all over the city that meet the requirements can be present,” added Ramos.
