Munich (dpa) – The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have taken the lead in the Bundesliga table by beating Telekom Baskets Bonn in the top game.
The Munich team prevailed 100:81 (49:42) and celebrated their twelfth victory in the 16th game of the season. The people of Bonn suffered their third defeat in a row and are now in second place with 12:5 wins.
Bonn’s playmaker Parker Jackson-Cartwright set accents early on, had scored 15 points at half-time and advanced to the top scorer with 30 points at the end. Bayern’s long-range shooters found their rhythm: the hosts hit eight of their nine three-pointers in the first half and went into the dressing room with a 49-42 lead.
Outstanding three-way quota of Bayern
Even after the break, the Munich team kept their rhythm and dominated the guests at times. Before the final section, Bayern extended their lead to 15 points difference. In the end, the home side dominated with a three-way quota of 66 percent.
In the second game, ratiopharm Ulm won 92:81 (48:48) against medi Bayreuth. The team from Ulm celebrated their third win in a row. Jaron Blossomgame scored twice in a row for in the closing stages Ulm and became the best scorer with 18 points.
Ulm had to do without their head coach Jaka Lakovic. One of the three quick tests for the corona virus carried out on the day of the game was positive, as the club announced before the game.
