Schaeffersheim
The men of S. Andrès make a good collective start at SIG 2 which allows them to lead 31-18 after the first ten minutes. Then the SIG restarts with a winning shot and, by increasing the defensive pressure, goes up a notch and reduces the score to 37-43 at the break.
On returning from the locker room, the locals continued their momentum by stifling the Schaeffersheimois who lost their means and were caught up. The “Sigmen” take the lead in the 26the (50-49) and enjoy a 7 length advantage at the end of the 3e quarter. The pressure is increasing on both sides. The game is tight and Schaeff finds solutions through Angelo and Hounkpatin-Kormann who equalizes at 65 everywhere in the 36the. Thanks to a rediscovered collective, President Wagner’s proteges take over the reins of the match before Kretz on a successful long-range shot after 24” completed by a free throw definitively puts his team in the shelter to slip away towards a victory (81-71) which delighted the many supporters who made the trip.

The two Cercle Saint-Etienne teams still in contention in the cup have both been eliminated. The male 1 came out through the small door in Obernai. After raising their handicap by 7 pts, they led several times. The victory beckoned them, but the end of the match would turn in favor of the locals who nevertheless evolve a level lower (63-56). The female 1s, on the other hand, left the event with their heads held high. Faced with a solid formation from Eckbolsheim, the Hindisheimoises did much more than defend themselves, clinging somehow to their bonus of 14 pts. They only gave in at the very end of the game under the onslaught of visitors (47-56). The protected duo Antz – Kirmser will have the opportunity to erase this narrow defeat this Friday (8:30 p.m.) at Osthouse.
