The 1990s witnessed the birth of a new video game genre that marked an entire generation of gamers, sports managers. Those early nineties also popularized personal computers in a large majority of Spanish homes. So there is no doubt that a whole generation of youngsters had their first contacts with a PC at the hands of those unforgettable ‘PC Fútbol‘ or ‘PC Basket‘.
These iconic games were developed by Dynamic Multimedia and reached their peak with the 400,000 copies sold of ‘PC Fútbol 7.0’ in Spain alone. Since then, the genre experienced a slow but surely inexorable decline until the ‘Football Manager’ franchise was able to return to the genre some of the fame and prestige that those games amassed in the mid-nineties.
At least this much as far as the beautiful game is concerned, because basketball fans have not been able to enjoy a true quality successor to those ‘PC Basket’… probably until now.

And it seems so because this ‘International Basketball Manager 2022’, launched on the market last December, does seem to meet the necessary conditions to make basketball lovers fall in love again. From the outset it has the official licenses of the Euroleague and the Eurocup, the ACB, the LEB Oro and many European leagues such as French, Italian, German, Greek, Turkish, Belgian and Dutch… More than 330 clubs and more than 5,000 players at your fingertips to take any club and/or player to the elite of European basketball. The NBA, however, does not have the real names of either the franchises or the players (although maybe a mod can fix it in the future…).
For the rest, ‘International Basketball Manager 2022’ has everything a good sports manager should have. From the hiring of club employees, follow-up of promises and subsidiary team, full economic management of the club from the price of tickets and season tickets to the hiring of sponsors and television operator, increase in the capacity of the stadium… .and so on a long etcetera of possibilities.
As for the simulation of matches, it has several options depending on the time we want to invest in following the match, intervening in decisive plays or changing different tactics such as individual defense, zone defense, mid-court pressure, three-quarters pressure, rhythm of the possessions in attack, percentage of use of the inside and outside game… Different options within the simulation that will surely satisfy even the most knowledgeable and enjoying basketball fans.
It is also necessary to configure in the best way the minutes and the role that each player in the squad receives. It goes without saying at this point that a player signed in a star or starting role can blow up the chemistry of the entire team if he doesn’t get the role or minutes promised in his contract.
In addition, when signing we will have to be very careful to strictly comply with the ACB regulations regarding non-EU and training players. We must always have four national or formation players in a call of twelve players, in which only two of them can be non-EU, usually American.
