Three days after their feat in Geneva, BC Boncourt was brought back to earth by Massagno this Saturday evening in the Swiss Basketball League. Despite a good first half, the Jurassians lost 97-78 on their floor against Ticino who came to consolidate their second place in the standings. A small halt in the dynamics after two successes in a row, but also in the way. Because if the Red Team still seemed to be won over by the Geneva euphoria in the first half, it completely collapsed after returning from the locker room.
The Nikolic-Mladjan pair hurt a lot
The start of the match was however very good, opened by an “alley-oop” from the two Jacksons to start the show. The Jurassians rolled out offensively, finding various solutions at three points as well as inside to shine the young Petar Kozic (15 points). The BCB counted up to 12 points ahead in the second quarter (37-25), a nice mattress which had unfortunately already withered at the break (48-46). The return from the locker room was a long ordeal and the third period (9-26) a black hole for the Boncourtois who suddenly lost momentum. Offensively? The blow of the breakdown (and precipitation) with less than 20 points scored in 15 minutes. In the painting ? Uros Nikolic (37 points, 9 rebounds) and Marko Mladjan (19 points, 9 rebounds) have again become the bosses of the zone. Neither Dainius Chatkevicius, still guilty of five faults as in Geneva, nor Boukhary Cissoko, too discreet, were able to constitute a credible alternative to challenge their superiority.
First minutes in SBL for Emini and Assuelli
From the end of the match, we will remember the first minutes in SBL of the young Boncourtois Florian Emini and Valerio Assuelli who even offered his first basket in the elite. If the addition is salty, it should not make us forget the good start to the year of the Jura residents. “Losing like that hurts for sure. But beating Massagno after Geneva would have been a huge feat, it’s not too bad yet. In two weeks in Monthey, it will be very important, ”tempered Juraj Kozic after the match. It will then be against a competitor who is three points behind sixth place in the BCB, and whom the Red Team would like to leave far behind. /jpi
