Benzema robbed on Sunday night while playing game against Elche

There are nights like this when it would be better to stay in bed. This was the case for Karim Benzema, Sunday. Indeed, the French international has chained the big bad luck like a Pierre Richard of the big nights,
by first missing a peno against Elche – his first failure in this exercise since he joined Real! – then leaving at the hour mark after feeling an alert behind the left thigh.

And as if that weren’t enough, “KBNueve” had the misfortune to learn that his house in the San Sebastian de los Reyes neighborhood had been robbed during the match. Indeed, according to our Spanish friends from 20 minutes, the thieves would have entered the (empty) villa of the former Lyonnais, through the garden, to steal loot, the amount of which has not yet been revealed.

The thieves entered Benzema’s house by breaking a bay window

“The player realized what had happened when he returned home after the encounter and discovered that everything had been returned to the house,” police sources said, adding that what had been stolen was not was not immediately known. According to initial findings, the thieves scaled the exterior fence of the property and entered the house by breaking a bay window

This is not the first time that nocturnal visitors have picked their pockets. Already in 2019, Benzema had been the victim of a first burglary on the evening of the King’s Cup semi-final return against FC Barcelona. Still, Benzema is the latest footballer to be robbed while playing a game.

In October 2019, the Spanish Civil Guard and Europol announced the dismantling of a network of burglars who counted players from Atlético and Real Madrid among their main targets. According to the Spanish media, Benzema was already among the victims of this network, like the Brazilian Real Casemiro or the Ghanaian Thomas Partey, ex-player of Atlético.
