[미디어투데이=안상일 기자] From January 3 to January 14, 2022, Dochon Elementary School operated a winter vacation seasonal school to guarantee students’ basic academic ability and restore self-esteem.

This winter vacation seasonal school was implemented as part of ‘realization of warm education that cares for life’ to guarantee students’ basic academic ability during vacation and to heal the hearts of students hurt by COVID-19.

To ensure academic achievement, we have operated a ladder of hope program for each grade level, and to heal the mind, electronic drums, mobility, interior design, science experiments, beads craft, badminton, miniature production, cooking classes, plastic model production, flower arranging, knitting, ukulele, paper art, fitness It is composed of more than 30 experiential programs such as , AR experience, etc.

In particular, the seasonal school program was operated in a way that students choose and take the classes they want to meet their individual interests and aptitudes, so the satisfaction of students and parents was very high.

5th grade student Kim Jung-woo said, “It was the best seasonal school I had at school so far. It was really fun and enjoyable to choose and participate in the program I wanted to do,” he said.

One parent even left a letter of thanks to the school: “The seasonal school program is so diverse and rich that the children love it and want to go to school even though it is a vacation. I am so grateful that the teachers gave so many different talents to the children that I was able to finish the school year with a lot of learning and fun.”

Principal Im-sik Park said, “I would like to thank the students and parents who sympathized with the purpose of this winter vacation program and actively participated, and the teachers who donated various talents to the students. Dochon Elementary School will continue to work hard for the educational welfare of students.”
