The three-time Wimbledon winner left the German Tennis Association in 2020. Now another attempt is apparently in the offing – and Boris Becker reveals details.
Boris Becker wants to work for the German Tennis Association (DTB) again in the future. “The door is not closed, I will have a political role in the future,” said the six-time Grand Slam winner of the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” (“FAZ”): “However, I am still very connected to the DTB, especially Klaus Eberhard (Sports Director DTB, ed.).”
At the 73rd Annual General Meeting in Bremen in mid-November, DTB President Dietloff von Arnim announced that Eberhard would be leaving the DTB in mid-2022 at his own request.
At the end of 2020, Becker gave up his position as “Head of Men’s Tennis” in the DTB due to time constraints, but kept a return open. “There are always a few players who are looking for my advice. I’m happy to provide them with information. And if a player asks me, I’m happy to help. Tennis is still my great passion and it will always be that way,” known the 54-year-old Becker.
