Due to the above, coach Sebastián Sucarrát affirmed that, despite having had a short preparation stage, the results were positive since his team is eager to defend the project and put on the shirt to represent Torreón, remembering that they return to play before the fans of La Laguna in the Municipal Auditorium.
“It is being noticed that they are young boys, with desires, the desire to transcend and to show that they are prepared to play. We were able to keep most of the players from last year, buy new talent that already has experience in the National League and strengthen our team. The idea this year is to form a supportive team that can achieve great things in this tournament”.
Thus, Sucarrát highlighted the importance of his coaching staff made up of Jorge Ocampo and Manu Urrutia for the physical and technical preparation of the Laguna team. In addition, he stressed that despite the fact that they will not be able to count on Omar de Haro this season due to injury, any of his “pieces” is ready to contribute and ensure that they do not depend on a single player.
“I have the privilege of having a top level coaching staff. Jorge Ocampo supports me for the physical preparation for the fourth consecutive year, one of the best in Mexico. And in the technical part I have Manu Urrutia, who is my assistant, he was working on scouting. This team is very excited. We’re going to try to give them a good show.”
After making known the call of Eduardo Girón and Jonathan Machado to the Mexican National Team, with a view to the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers, Machado did not hesitate to express his pride in representing his country and the desire to continue working for motivate the youngest.
“I am happy to wear the Mexico shirt, it is a blessing and pride, it makes me want to continue working. As a player, communication characterizes me. I have a very good three-year shot and years of experience that I seek to pass on to young people to motivate them and keep them on the right track,” said the selected man, in addition to thanking the Toros board for the opportunity to join the squad.
In turn, Machado, who has already stressed that the most important thing is to support young Mexican talent, affirming that the Bulls are committed to giving triumphs to the Shire’s public: “We are ready for the game against Juárez. There is a lot of dedication and something that stands out to the team is the defense. That is going to bear a lot of fruit and every night there will be a different scorer. We hope that the fans come to support us, it will be a nice match and we will start defending the house”.

On the other hand, Luis Andrassi said he was excited about the season that is about to start, since they hope to play a good role, with the objective of competing head-to-head, qualifying for the playoffs and fighting for the championship. “Last year we had the opportunity to play a good role, unfortunately we were not in Torreón and coming back is very exciting. Something that characterizes us is our defensive intensity and youth, we run a lot and share the ball a lot. Right now I like that there are no stars, any player can contribute and that will characterize us”.
