RB Leipzig is the first Bundesliga club to defend itself in court against the ban on spectators ordered because of Corona. According to the club’s announcement, an application for “issuance of an interim order” was made in an expedited procedure at the Saxon Higher Administrative Court in Bautzen. In contrast to the situation in other federal states such as Bavaria (up to 10,000 spectators) and Baden-Württemberg (up to 6,000), where in some cases more fans are allowed into the stadiums again, there is still an upper limit of 1,000 visitors in Saxony.
Other Bundesliga clubs could follow the Leipzig lawsuit. Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Köln said on request that they would also examine the legal route, in North Rhine-Westphalia only 750 visitors are currently allowed in the stadiums. There are similar considerations aloud image at VfB Stuttgart, but these are open-ended, emphasized a spokesman.
