Burkina Faso needed one goal on Thursday evening to beat Cape Verde in the group stage of the Africa Cup. Ajax mercenary Hassane Bandé made the only goal of the match in a special way: with his chest.
The first game in the group stage, against Cameroon, was narrowly lost to Burkina Faso (1-2). The team has to deal with a lot of corona cases, but managed to get off the field against Cape Verde with the victory. Burkina Faso took the full loot with a goal from Bandé. The attacker, who is rented out by Ajax to the Croatian NK Istra, worked the ball in with his chest.
At Cape Verde, Jeffry Fortes (De Graafschap) and Lisandro Semedo (Fortuna Sittard) were in the field, but they were unable to prevent a defeat. With the win, Burkina Faso has three points after two games. This puts it on a level with Cape Verde, which won the first game against Ethiopia. Cameroon awaits for Cape Verde in the final game of the group stage.
