Egypt thanks its star and the intervention of the VAR on the equalizing goal.
Beaten by Nigeria at the opening, Egypt, which holds the record for victories in the African Cup of Nations, already had no room for error on Saturday night against Guinea-Bissau. The Pharaohs were able to count on their superstar to make the difference.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 67th minute and that was enough for Egypt who won by the smallest gap, benefiting from the cancellation of a goal by Mama Baldé, after intervention by VAR (1- 0). The Pharaohs (3 points) climb to second place in their group, behind Nigeria (6) and ahead of Guinea-Bissau and Sudan (1).
