Charleroi finds the way to success by beating Saint-Trond by the smallest gap (0-1)

Charleroi has its first success of 2022! A victory on the smallest gap against Saint-Trond (0-1), which temporarily allows the Carolos to come back to within two points of Anderlecht.

The Zèbres took the game by the right end because after less than ten minutes, Zaroury managed to deceive the goalkeeper trudonnaire to give the Carolos the advantage. On a long ball from Morioka, Leistner missed and let the Belgian-Moroccan go alone on goal. The latter, who did not ask for so much, played Russo with a small lob of the head.

On their way, the Carolos showed themselves to be dangerous several times in the trudonnaire rectangle but without alerting Russo. In the last quarter of the first period, the Trudonnaires pointed to the window and could even have equalized with a little more accuracy in the last gesture.

The second period is more balanced with chances on both sides. If Bessilé hit the post after a few seconds, Saint-Trond slightly dominated the exchanges and was dangerous thanks in particular to Hara and Hayashi. But also thanks to Koita whose (almost) perfect free kick violently hit the post defended by Kamara.

In the other direction, Charleroi took advantage of the spaces offered by the Trudonnaire defense to start a counter-attack with Bayo and Tchatchoua. The latter got two huge chances in the last quarter of an hour. On the first, his shot was too crunched, but on the second he was easily played by Koita to send the ball to the post.
