City of Irvine promotes establishment of indoor badminton facilities

At a regular meeting on the 11th, the Irvine City Council passed a plan to the related staff to search for a place to build an indoor badminton facility. Accordingly, the staff in charge must select a candidate site and submit it to the next city council meeting.

Deputy Mayor Tammy Kim said, “There are various recreational and sporting facilities in Irvine.” “However, there is no indoor badminton court.”

According to Deputy Mayor Tammy Kim, Irvine currently has 98 tennis courts, 64 baseball fields, 32 baseball fields, 70 soccer facilities, 32 basketball courts, 23 volleyball courts, and 6 pickle ball courts. Vice Mayor Kim emphasized, “It’s time to support Irvine’s badminton fans and provide resources so that this sport can grow.”

According to Deputy Mayor Tammy Kim, there are a lot of badminton fans in Irvine, but there are not enough facilities to enjoy this sport.
