Club Deportivo Zonkeys will have academies in the disciplines of soccer, volleyball and boxing, which join the basketball academy, which is currently very successful. In all sports, the setting where classes will be taught is at the José Santos Meza sports unit, located just 5 minutes from 5 and 10.
In all disciplines it is aimed at children from the age of four, that is, adolescents, young people and adults can also attend.
The announcement was led by the president of Tijuana Zonkeys, Rafael Carrillo Barrón; Andrea Jáuregui Lapuente, General Director of Tijuana Zonkeys; Andrea Garay, Sports Manager of the Zonkeys Sports Club; Adriana Arvizu, Coordinator of Basketball Tournaments and Ángel Cornejo, Coordinator of Soccer Tournaments.
Also in the presidium were: Dayana Pérez, Obeth Castro and Marcos Núñez, who are part of the Zonkeys Sports Club in different areas.
“We will always have growth in basketball, but we have seen that there are other areas where we can also bring youth… Our desire is to give back a little to the Tijuana community for how much it has given us and make it better and better by putting our grain of sand through sports”, commented the president of the Tijuana Zonkeys, Rafael Carrillo.
“Good news is always the sports theme, the theme of children and young people; right now we are focused on that side. We have seen the growth we have had with the Basketball Academy, where we have more than 500 students enrolled developing this sport here and we also have the part of the tournaments, both in basketball and soccer”, indicated Andrea Jáuregui Lapuente.
We took on the task of seeing what else we could do, thanks to these first class facilities together with the growth and positioning of the Tijuana Zonkeys team, now we are looking to position these sports under the name of Zonkeys, an idea that we like a lot, since that not only will the basketball players wear the Zonkeys shirt, but it will also be a pride to see soccer players, volleyball players and boxers wear the Zonkeys logo through the Zonkeys Sports Club”, he added.
